Injection and Blow Molding

Cube has over 50 years of working to design and develop rigid packaging.  We have worked with large and small CPG companies to develop the right supply strategy for cost and capability.  Advancing from early market concepts to production capabilities represents many options and we have the experience in working large to small programs developing solutions across stock or custom components.

One example of how we leveraged technology, relationships and supply chain knowledge; a client needed to convert 20 injection molds to a new design, and do this across 3 suppliers with no interruption of service.  The approach we took was to bring all the parties (some were competitors) together and explain the challenge and develop a plan that connected mold component suppliers (hot runner, controller) along with mold builders, molders and internal manufacturing to develop a plan together on how to best design, coordinate and convert molds without production interruptions for the client.   The solution focus was on technology and coordination, where we staged the mold change parts working together as a collective team.  Results, all 20 molds were converted to new design and qualified in 8 months from start to finish.  Actual mold change- over to qualification, happened in less than 3 months because of staging and coordination across the suppliers working together with the clients manufacturing group.

Leveraging Cubes industry experience and connection we have typically been able to reduce design to production time by 20% and unit cost by 10-25% via strategic supplier and design choices.
